- Brown the Beef: Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until no pink remains, breaking it into small crumbles.
- Season the Meat: Drain excess fat, lower heat to medium, add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and a splash of water. Stir and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Prepare the Greens: Wash and chop romaine lettuce, placing it in a large mixing bowl.
- Chop the Vegetables: Dice red onion, halve cherry tomatoes, and rinse black beans and corn.
- Layer the Ingredients: Top the lettuce with warm beef, black beans, corn, tomatoes, and onions.
- Add the Finishing Touches: Sprinkle cheese over the warm meat, add crushed tortilla chips, and pour dressing over the salad.
- Toss and Serve: Gently toss the salad and serve immediately.
