Ingredients
  

  • 2 large English cucumbers
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced

Method
 

  1. Wash and dry your cucumbers thoroughly. Then, slice them into thin rounds, about 1/8 inch thick.
  2. Place the sliced cucumbers in a colander. Sprinkle them with salt and toss gently. Let them sit for 15 minutes.
  3. Prepare your creamy dressing by combining sour cream, mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Whisk until smooth.
  4. After 15 minutes, rinse the cucumbers under cold water and pat them dry.
  5. Add the dried cucumber slices to the bowl with dressing. Include the sliced red onion and chopped fresh dill. Toss until evenly coated.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, serve within 4 hours of preparation. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
