Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 4 cups fresh cauliflower florets
  • 8-10 slices bacon strips
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely diced
  • 3/4 cup raisins or dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Method

  1. Step 1: Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Transfer to paper towels and let cool completely. Once cooled, chop into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Step 2: Cut broccoli and cauliflower into small, bite-sized florets. Wash thoroughly and pat completely dry.
  3. Step 3: Combine broccoli, cauliflower, diced red onion, raisins, sunflower seeds, and shredded cheese in a large mixing bowl. Toss gently to distribute ingredients evenly.
  4. Step 4: Whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl. Adjust sweetness or tanginess to your preference.
  5. Step 5: Pour dressing over the vegetable mixture. Add chopped bacon and fold everything together gently but thoroughly.
  6. Step 6: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Cut florets small for better texture. Ensure vegetables are dry before mixing. Cook bacon until crispy for best results. Reserve some toppings for presentation.
